If you are struggling with fertility issues, or seeking fertility treatment or looking to preserve your eggs, an Anti-Mullerian Hormone Test Kit is a fertility blood test that is likely to be a diagnostic test that is recommended for you.
An AMH Test enables a laboratory to accurately assess your ovarian function, particularly if you’ve been trying to conceive for over 6 months, are over 35 or are about to start fertility treatment.
The test checks your body’s ability to produce eggs which we refer to as your ‘ovarian reserve’.

What is a normal AMH range for my age?
As we age, our ability to produce fertile eggs naturally decreases as we are born with a finite number of eggs stored in our ovaries (1-2 million) but over time, our reserves naturally decline through our reproductive years, and can also be impacted by lifestyle, environmental, hormonal and genetic factors, until we reach menopause when our AMH production naturally stops.
The fastest way to check your current fertility status, regardless of age or the point in your menstrual cycle, is by taking a quick finger-prick AMH Test to test your ovarian reserve.

AMH Levels and Your Fertility
If your results show concentrations from the middle upwards then this is a good ovarian reserve. If your results are in the lower end of the table, this indicates a diminished ovarian reserve but this does not mean that you will not fall pregnant, just that you have fewer eggs remaining.
AMH testing allows us to take a snapshot review of your ovarian reserve, but it does not tell us anything about the quality or health of your remaining eggs.
What is a good AMH Level to fall pregnant?
Ideal AMH levels to achieve pregnancy is over 15 pmol/L. Women under 35 may be in the higher range whereas women in their late 30s or older would naturally have a lower AMH level as their reserves have declined.
How can a Fertility Specialist use information about AMH levels?
AMH testing is a helpful diagnostic for fertility specialists. It can help us estimate how many eggs we may capture in a cycle of treatment, whether you are undergoing egg freezing or a cycle of IVF and also how well you may respond to fertility medications when undergoing treatment.
