Counselling
At IVF Matters we understand how fertility issues may cause emotional stress. You can expect us to deliver judgement-free counselling. Whether you’re a new patient who just discovered they have reproductive health problems or have been jumping from one centre to another, our counsellors, Deborah Petrou and Daniel Burbidge have a wealth of experience.
Deborah Petrou is an accredited therapist with the BPC (British Psychoanalytic Council) and BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association) member. She is experienced in supporting individuals and couples undergoing fertility treatment; ensuring that patients are supported to make well-informed decisions about their treatment and family-building options. In addition to her Fertility role, Deborah has worked as a counsellor and family support liaison for a leading grief charity.
Daniel Burbidge is a highly experienced counsellor with over 10 years of counselling experience. Following his career as a lawyer, he trained as a counsellor and now works as a psychotherapist working with couples and individuals facing issues relating to fertility issues. Daniel is an accredited therapist with UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) and a member of the BICA (British Infertility Counselling Association). His qualifications include a Masters and Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling.
This service includes fertility-related relationship counselling for couples, and we will gladly work with you even if you’re already working with another centre. Fertility treatment can be emotionally challenging, and having the right support from a professional counsellor can be immensely beneficial. You may want to seek support before, during or after treatment from our counsellors, Deborah and Daniel.
FAQs
IVF Matters is a unique service that allows you to receive private fertility care from the comfort of your own home with some of the UK’s leading fertility consultants.
