FAQs

The IVF process typically takes around 3 weeks from start to finish. This includes the stimulation, egg retrieval, fertilization, and embryo transfer stages.

The risk of multiple births is increased with IVF, especially if multiple embryos are transferred. However, transferring a single high-quality embryo can minimize this risk.

Potential side effects of IVF include mood swings, headaches, hot flashes, abdominal pain, bloating, and in rare cases ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Mild cramping, constipation, and breast tenderness may also occur after the embryo transfer.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is a type of IVF treatment where sperm is injected directly into the egg. This technique is used when the sperm quality is not within the normal range. The magnification used to select sperm is 200x to 400x.

Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection (IMSI) is used to assist sperm selection for fertilisation at ultra-high magnification of 6000x. This technique is particularly important in cases of repeated IVF failures, in those with a history of miscarriages or in those with high sperm DNA fragmentation.

Yes, we offer Natural Cycle IVF treatment that does not require ovarian stimulation.

The age of the woman at the time of treatment and the quality of the eggs and sperm determines the embryo’s ability to develop.

Women who have previously given birth are more likely to get pregnant using IVF.

Success rates are lower for women who have had multiple cycles of IVF treatment and didn't get pregnant and those who have severe endometriosis.

Lifestyle plays an important role in determining success. Smoking, high alcohol consumption, obesity, increased caffeine intake and exposure to toxins can lower the quality of the gametes and reduce the chances of a successful outcome.
