Mr. Osama Naji (MBChB MD MRCOG) is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, where he has led the Cancer Rapid Diagnostics Clinic at Guy's Cancer Centre since January 2020. He is also an expert in ultrasound-guided minimally invasive procedures for treating various gynaecological conditions.
Mr. Naji qualified with an MBChB in 2004 and completed his specialist training at prestigious institutions in London and the West Midlands. He earned a Medical Doctorate from Imperial College London in 2013, focusing on innovative methods for assessing incomplete caesarean section scar healing via ultrasound and its implications for early pregnancy and infertility. His credentials include: MRCOG, Diploma of Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health, RCOG Accreditation in Trans-vaginal Ultrasound (Level III Expert), RCOG Accreditation in Diagnostic and Operative Hysteroscopy. Mr Naji specializes in hysteroscopic, laparoscopic and robotic surgery, in addition he is accredited in colposcopy and HyCoSy.

Yes certainly, Mr Naji specialises in advance pelvic ultrasound scanning, he performs the ultrasound himself and this can be done during the same clinic visit as he offers a one-stop service.
It is generally advised to have the ultrasound scan in the first ten days of the cycle, this is especially relevant for patients who have a regular menstrual cycle, however in post-menopaui cycles, the scan can be done at any point.
There are no pre-requisites for the appointment, you can eat and drink and continue any regular medication. It is however advised to have an empty bladder for the appointment.
It depends on the type of investigation carried out, generally blood test results come back within approximately 3-5 working days and histology results may take up to a week.
