IVF Matters is the UK’s first online fertility hub. This internet-based clinic offers consultations, advice, tests and treatments from some of the country’s leading practitioners. From initial tests to counselling, the website aims to provide a one-stop resource that can help you maximise your chances of having a baby.
We review IVF Matters
The idea behind IVF Matters is simple. The website allows you to find and book a full range of fertility services at the click of a button. These services are broken down into sections: Consultation, Laboratory, and Ultrasound. Each of the sections offers a number of options; whether you need laboratory test carried out, or would like to speak to a specialist from the comfort of your own home, you’ll find what you need here.
For example, you can seek advice from a consultant if you’ve been trying for a baby for a while but haven’t yet been successful. Or you can book a consultation with a specialist if you need help managing any number of specific fertility-related problems.
Once you’ve found the consultation you need, the booking process is straightforward. You can choose up to three suitable appointment dates and times, and can then decide whether you want to speak to the consultant by telephone or video call.
If you need fertility related laboratory tests carried out, these can ordered via the online portal and posted anywhere in the UK.
Alternatively, if you’re looking to book a private ultrasound, IVF Matters holds appointments at over 50 venues in the UK. Just select the type of ultrasound you would like – such a pelvic scan or an early pregnancy scan – pick your preferred venue, enter your details and add it to your basket. Just like online shopping!
Professional Service
The site’s creator, Dr Irfana Koita, is a member of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG). I found it reassuring to know that a specialist with over 10 years is behind this resource. Whilst I was looking for a simple, quick and stress-free way to access fertility care, I didn’t want to have this at the expense of expertise and professionalism.
The website is very easy to navigate. The information is thoughtfully and clearly laid out, so I could go straight to the services I needed.
As a fertility service for the 21st century, IVF Matters fits the bill perfectly. You can use this service on its own or even if you are having treatment elsewhere but want a second opinion. Although some people may still prefer face to face consultations, this online clinic could be of huge benefit to those who need maximum flexibility.
