An endometrial biopsy helps detect the presence of bacteria (tissue culture, EMMA, ALICE) or abnormal cells (histology) and determine the implantation window (ERA). Endometrial immune profiling is a novel concept based on the analysis of the local immune reaction occurring in the endometrium at the time of the implantation.

If you have experienced unsuccessful IVF cycles despite good quality embryos being transferred, an endometrial scratch may improve the chances of the embryo implanting.

How is the procedure performed?

An endometrial scratch or endometrial biopsy involves passing a catheter via the neck of the womb to obtain a sample of the cells that line the womb (the endometrium) under ultrasound guidance. The cells are sent to the laboratory for analysis as per indication.

Who should have the test?

Those having fertility treatment should have an assessment of the cells that line the uterine cavity prior to starting fertility treatment. 

The endometrial scratch is likely to be helpful in those with a history of unsuccessful IVF cycles in spite of good quality embryos being transferred, as it may improve implantation potential.

The Doctors Laboratory, UK's leading laboratory service will analyse the histology, tissue culture and immune profiling samples. The ERA, ALICE and EMMA tests are analysed by Igenomix.

Can I pay in instalments?

The remaining balance will be held on the credit card until the final payment is made. 

LayBuy lets you spread the total cost over 6 weekly automatic payments. The first payment equal to one-sixth of the purchase price occurs once your order is completed. The remaining 5 payments are processed each week on the day of the original purchase. You will be required to log in to or set up a Laybuy account to use this payment facility.
